is there some reason you dislike it? like, the sound of the word, the insinuation of the word, the sound people make when they are actually noshing?

That reminds me of a guy from high school who used to say "Not eev!" (Not even!)....Hate the word, not who speaks it.
sometimes someone asks me what i'm up to, and i say, "you know, the ush" (for, the usual)well as long as your hating the game, not the player :)
"Nosh" also reminds me of another word I dislike: Quaff.
